About this Course

 

The Millennials (those born after 1980) recently surpassed Baby-Boomers as the nation’s largest living generation, many of whom are college students today. By 2025, Millennials will make up 75% of the U.S. workforce. Strong communication skills are critical to student learning and successful job performance. STARLINK discusses best practices for today’s learner, keys to effective communication, factors influencing Millennials, and how to engage and enhance their learning experience.

Module One:

Millennials - the generation that will take us to Mars, cure cancer, and discover the solution to cure homelessness. How can we effectively communicate and teach Millennials?  This module explores the following:

  • Challenges

 

Module Two:

Motivation is vital to engage and retain Millennials, so what motivates Millennials? How can we utilize technology to better engage and retain today’s Millennial? In this module, STARLINK discusses:

  • Using Technology to Enhance Education
  • Being Flexible
  • Using Direct Language

 

Module Three:

Effective teaching to today’s Millennial learner starts with creative engagement, building trust, and setting the right environment on day one.  This module covers the following:

  • Tips for Faculty
  • Final Thoughts
