In this course STARLINK presents, a Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) certified, Cybersecurity Awareness Training in accordance with Texas Government Code, section 2054.519. This training meets the required criteria for compliance with HB3834. Cybersecurity Awareness Training is certified for use by state and local government employees and is valid through August 31, 2026.
Texas Government Code 2054.519 State Certified Cybersecurity Training Programs requires DIR, in consultation with the Texas Cybersecurity Council, to certify at least five cybersecurity training programs for state and local government employees and Section 2054.5191 requires state and local government employees and officials to complete a certified training program. The statute also requires state government contractors to complete a certified training program.
Pursuant to Texas Government Code Section 2054.519, the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), in consultation with the Texas Cybersecurity Council, is required to certify at least five cybersecurity training programs for use by state and local government personnel. Furthermore, Section 2054.5191 mandates that state and local government employees and officials complete a certified cybersecurity training program. This statutory requirement also applies to contractors who have access to a state computer system or database.
